The Negative Never Lasts

A reminder for those who feel the negative is everlasting.

Over the past summer, I've encountered a lot as I focus on renewing and reinventing myself. This is typically something I do for brands or individuals that I interact with. However, this time the project is different, more necessary.

One of the things I've encountered recently (and consistently over time) is that the negative never lasts. That isn't said to take away from the power the negative somehow holds, but it's to highlight that it'll never overcome the positive. Whether you are suffering, mentally, physically, or financially, it won't be for an eternity. It may feel like it initially but know it won't in the end. And no, I'm not just saying "there's light at the end of the tunnel" in other (or more) words. I'm saying you have to light your torch now, in the quote on quote tunnel. (Life is more of a forest than a tunnel, but that's something to touch on later)

You can't just wait for better to happen in this life. You have to work for it. It's lighting your torch, calling in a backup generator, lighting a scented candle to snap you out of that funk, and so on. It's doing something. It's moving forward even when you don't even know if there's any more railing ahead. You have to keep forward and keep developing for yourself. If not for yourself, then who? Who's going to be there beside you comforting (and motivating) you to go forward? You have to continue for yourself because all you have is yourself. Yes, you have those around you, but you have to be in tune with yourself to find that adequate energy and environment that serves you.

It all starts and ends with you. Understand that you are the positive, never the negative. And no, I'm not saying "everyone or anything else is the problem, you're not." You have to identify your own positive and negative in your life. You have to realize the positive serves you more than the negative. You serve you for your development. Anyone else benefiting from that is just a bonus.

Always remember, the positive outlives the negative. Especially when you sustain it.

Sincerely,
